About

Hello. I’m Andy Strange and this is my personal website. I’m using it as the main gateway to all my online activities and as a home for my writings and thoughts.

Here I am attempting to document my practices - such as X and Y - and write some long form essays. My latest essay is "Digital Gardens".

I still maintain my old blog at andystrange.org.uk. My most recent blog post is "A new personal website".

I live in Luton in England.

For many years I have been active with the Liberal Democrats, the UK political party. I was an elected councillor on Luton Borough Council for eight years and had a number of roles within local government. I was a member of the Council’s Executive for three years. I have also been a parliamentary candidate.

I am a trustee of The Culture Trust Luton, a local charity that supports the arts and cultural activities in the town and runs various venues; including the Hat Factory and the Stockwood Discovery Centre.

I currently work in digital and IT for a local authority. This work has mostly focused on open data and building digital services. Before that I worked as a contractor building websites with WordPress and providing other web services through my company Grit and Oyster Limited; through which I now do occasional side projects.
